Hello, all! We realize that the website has been lacking in updates. Unfortunately, our web master has been unresponsive and M.I.A., so we haven’t been able to do much site editing. However, we have raised over $20,000 in our campaign, which is much more than the $4,500 the website currently states.

We would also like to announce our last event of the Rock ‘n’ Raise for Darfur Campaign, called the Rock ‘n’ Raise Wrap Up. The event will take place Sunday, April 18th at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois. Admission is free, and we will have Ashal Yai, a heavily involved Sudanese youth, speak about the importance of getting involved and how youth can truly help to make a difference. We will also be talking about the progress Rock ‘n’ Raise has brought about. Admission is free, but there will plenty of chances to donate, in the forms of food, t-shirts, and more. The event begins at 12pm and will end at 4pm. All are welcome! Please e-mail morgan@rocknraise.org if you are interested in attending.

Thank you so much for you support over this past year, and over these past few months with Rock ‘n’ Raise for Darfur! We will have a final update for you after the Rock ‘n’ Raise Wrap Up event.

Our first two weeks of fundraising have been going well, and students are working hard to reach their goals. As a means of congratulations and encouragement, as well as a way to relax and have fun, we have planned a concert this Sunday, February 14th, at the Metro in Chicago! The concert will feature performances by locally and nationally renowned groups Madina Lake, Big Science, Brendan Kelly of the Lawrence Arms, the Blisters, and the DePaul Prelude Choir. Doors open at 4pm, and the music starts at 4:30pm! All proceeds from the concert will go to the Rock ‘n’ Raise for Darfur campaign to build a school in Djabal refugee camp in eastern Chad. Tickets are still available for purchase http://bit.ly/aqN7Jl. We look forward to see everyone on Sunday!
